Coco Mademoiselle

Coco Mademoiselle has long been one of my favourite scents. And even though I do like to change my perfume up a bit depending on the season, This is definitely my 'signature scent'. It's so classic and sophisticated that it works for every occasion, it doesn't matter if you're spritzing it on for a cold December morning at work, or for a warm summer's evening event, it just works!

You may have seen in my recent 'What I Got For My Birthday video' that I was rather spoilt! My family clearly know me very well as I received a beautiful trio of products from the range which I absolutely love.

The first was a bottle of the eau de parfum, in the instantly recognisable and ever so classy glass bottle with a frosted top. The middle notes in Coco Mademoiselle are jasmine absolute and may rose absolute which are two of my favourite scents, with fruity top notes of grapefruit and orange and deeper base notes of patchouli, musk and vanilla. It is quite an intense fragrance, but I love the fact it lasts all day. If you've ever tried Chanel No5 and found it far too over powering, then this one by comparison is a lot softer and more feminine.

Next is the delicious foaming shower gel. It comes in a 200ml bottle which is made of plastic, but a glass bottle might be a bit unsafe in the shower so I'm assuming that why. I think it makes a beautiful gift for someone, because at a price point of £34, it's not something most of us would treat ourselves to on a regular basis. It lavers up really nicely and creates lots of soft, scented foam. The best thing about using the same range is that you can layer up the scent and make it last all day, especially when the quality is as good as this.

Finally I wanted to mention the fresh body cream. It comes in a gorgeous 150ml frosted glass pot with a white lid, and I can't lie, I really enjoy just looking at it on my dressing table! This was such a pleasant surprise to me as I had always imagined this to be quite thick, and not one to apply just before going out, but it's so light and easily and quickly absorbs into your skin. Again, you can layer up the body cream with the perfume to get the most out of the products.

I love the newest editions to my Chanel beauty collection. They might not be your everyday products, but I think they make such a lovely presents. Maybe one to add to the birthday or Christmas list?

Currently Loving... Gilly Hicks

I feel like I missed out on the whole, Hollister, Gilly Hicks obsession. I was more of a Jacks Wills girl when I was a teenager, and by the time the Abercrombie & Fitch stores started to arrive in my beloved Bluewater, I was more interested in other brands. But recently, I decided to have a little browse in Gilly Hicks as I wanted some new pj's & underwear. I discovered that the Gilly Hicks in Bluewater had a second level which i'd never noticed before (probably becuase it's a bit of a maze in there!) and upstairs I discovered all of their cosmetics and perfumes.

I gave all 3 perfumes a test and fell in love with one called Piper Point, which smells of juicy pear, guava & sandalwood. It's RRP is £38 which isn't too bad for an eau de parfum, BUT I then noticed that all fragrances had 50% off which of course completely sold it to me! I also love the bottle. It's classic, and beautifully simple and it looks perfect on my dressing table.

I also picked up a body splash which come in these huge 250ml glass bottles. Hastings Blush is a peachy scent and so pretty! The body splashes are much more subtle and obviously don't last as long on your skin as the perfumes, but, they're great for a quick spritz and even work well as room sprays. (not one for your bag though, it's rather heavy!) If you manage to get your hands on the Roseberry Opal body splash, I would say grab it! It's the nicest one (in my opinion) and was completely sold out. The body splashes were originally £20 so I got mine for £10!

I also picked up some pretty new underwear, in their 5 for £20 offer. They have a large selection of colours, but I went for navy, mint, lime, pale pink and bright pink lace ones, and even though they're not top quality, they are really nice for the price.

I've been told that Gilly Hicks is going to be rebranded in April and is merging with Hollister, (I was obviously too late on the band wagon here!) but i'm sure that means lots of good sales in the next couple of months, so if you have one local to you, get in there quick!

BOSS Jour Pour Femme Gift Set

I blogged about this gorgeous fragrance back in the summer. With it’s fresh, citrus scent, it really was my go to perfume throughout the summer. It’s perfect for the days when you want something with a light, gentle fragrance, nothing over the top!
I think everyone loves to receive a perfume gift set at Christmas (I know I certainly do!) So I was so happy to see that Boss Jour Pour Femme has been realised in a beautiful gift set featuring a bottle of the fragrance and a perfumed body lotion.
The Face of BOSS Jour Pour Femme Gwyneth Paltrow was asked in a recent interview about buying fragrance as a gift for Christmas. Here’s what she had to say:
“I think it’s nice to buy a fragrance that they’ve never tried, or buy them their favourite. It’s a luxury gift, it’s personal and it’s always wonderful to get perfume. I think it’s a nice time to try something new. But for people who are really married to their scent it’s also a really good time to give them that.”
If you’d like to give your loved one a really special gift this year, Then this would be a great one to try. I can’t really see how anyone wouldn’t like it, as it’s not over powering. Boss Jour Pour Femme is available at Boots.

Recently I was lucky enough to be whisked away to a hotel for my birthday. The hotel was set in beautiful grounds with lots of land and picturesque gardens, I’m still dreaming of waking up there each morning, the sun beaming through the window as I woke up and the gorgeous view. It made me feel so tranquil and calm and rested, but also uplifted and ready to start the day, like anything was possible. This might sound a little over the top, but it really was just what I needed, and it was such a lovely treat!
The new BOSS fragrance BOSS JOUR Pour Femme, has been inspired by the first light of day, and designed to evoke those exact feelings, to uplift and inspire, and encourage you to seize every opportunity. Boss Jour is a beautiful, light, fresh fragrance with notes of, white flowers, citrus, lime, grapefruit blossom, freesia lily of the valley, honeysuckle white birch and amber, making this a scent to suit, floral, fruity and woody scent lovers alike.
